If you having the problem "server out of date" after just updating your Minecraft installation, you can rollback your Minecraft program and run the server until 3rd parties are able to update their software. For example, to run multiplayer games, many modules and programs require updated applications and will not run for weeks after the main Minecraft program is released. In these circumstances you may choose to rollback to a previous version of Minecraft. To do this, follow these steps:
1. Click on Texture packs from within Minecraft

2. Select open texture pack folder

3. Go up a folder to the Roaming /.minecraft folder and then double click the bin folder, then right click the minecraft file and select properties.

4. Then select the tab 'previous versions', and select the file from a previous working version.
